In the description
below a stereotype is used to give you an idea of the disorder. However,
not all people who have this disorder display all these
characteristics, and not all people have these characteristics to the
same degree.
Description
These disorders are related to schizophrenia. Their are some differences.
In the schizoid personality disorder, the person is often very lonely,
has very little social interaction. People with a schizotypical personality
disorder often act strangely. They are afraid of social interaction,
have paranoid thoughts and see or hear things that are not there (hallucinations).
Normal
Some people have trouble making friends or prefer to be alone most of
the time. Usually everyone has some social interaction.
Abnormal
People with these disorder often are completely isolated. People (e.g.
the neighbors) think they behave very strange.
