| Mood
disorders - Postpartum depression
Description
This disorder is similar to the major depressive disorder, but is caused
by hormones. When women give birth, their body goes through a number
of changes. These changes influence their mood. These women are likely
to cry a lot periodically.
Normal
Giving birth is a very special event. It makes sense that a lot of emotions
are triggered by the mother, as well as by the father and other family
members and close friends. It is completely normal when people cry at
such a moment.
Abnormal
The mood changes become abnormal, when they last for a number of weeks.
